Got a Sick Munchkin so that makes this Pukachu Week

Welcome, Pukachu

Got a Sick Munchkin this week? Here's Pukachu, from Munchkin by Steve Jackson Games.

I love these unexpected ways that my almost-teens and toddler cross paths- they all love the Munchkin cards, in their different, completely conflicting ways.

Have you ever had that kind of flu where you feel really achy and miserable? That's what my two-year-old has this week. 'Drooling Slime' might be more accurate, but I think Pukachu says 'Sick Munchkin' better (Tweet this!)

He's been so close to the edge, poor little guy, I'm starting to wonder if there's some kind of flu strain called Depression Flu (my version), or for his age, Tantrum Flu.

This morning he was furious that I threw his snotty tissue away.

Super fun. And now he's asleep 🙂

So looking through the Munchkin cards was much more fun. Munchkin is by Steve Jackson, who I first heard of as the author of Fighting Fantasy interactive game books (anyone else played those?).

Officially, it's a nice Dungeons and Dragons-inspired comedy game with funny cards and lots of cool expansion sets (we've got the space-themed Star Munchkin too). The rules are a little bit complicated, but much easier than Magic the Gathering. And the cards are fun to look at too.

Find out more at Board Game Geek.

When my older kids are sick, we can still play a table top game. When my little one is sick, there are stories, TV, and pictures.

Either way, there's no sci-fi diet plan this week, just an update about why not. I've got plans for the next few weeks though, so...
