Black Lotus: the $100,000 Magic card

MTG Black Lotus For Sale
Bargain, no wonder it’s gone: here’s one for $199,999… And here’s the search...
Would you pay $100,000 for a playing card? One lucky Magic the Gathering card collector is hoping someone will.
Described as ‘The Holy Grail & Highest graded Magic card in the World,’ this card is the Black Lotus, by Christopher Rush, one of the first MTG cards ever drawn.
It requires no land to play, and adds to the player’s land.
I love the pictures on Magic cards. But $100,000..?
So I did a search for the most expensive MTG cards on eBay.
Imagine finding one of these in the pages of a secondhand book 🙂
If I were a billionaire, I’d love to buy up fantastic collectible items and hide them in places like that.
Then I’d set up some Google Alerts and wait for the exciting discoveries to appear…
What would you hide? And where would you hide it?

I have never owned a magic playing card before and not sure it is my thing either lol
I love the cards, but you can put a lot of time (and money!) into it if you get into collecting them and inventing new strategies!
That’s a whole lot of moolah!
I know! For tournament playing, the cards become invalid after a few years, but there’s the collectible aspect to it too, as well as games with friends of course 🙂
Oh my goodness! I used to play back in the day… I wonder if I still have my cards. =)
Could be worth a bit on ebay if you do! 🙂
Those are pretty cards. I must be old and boring though, I have never heard of this! Do any of the ‘sold’ prices reflect this or are they asking ridiculous amounts they are never going to get?
Well my son just spent $10 on a card – I doubt if $100,000 happens very often though!
I have sone friends that play Magic and just last night they were telling the story of a friend who drew this very card! Is that possible? I guess he started shaking uncontrollably when he got it!!
That would be quite a surprise!
